User authentication

The permissions and appearance of the GCP-CR will be different for different users.

Access levels include individual users, GenerationCP consortium members, GCP project members, and free open public access.

GCP partners can request a username and password from the GCP Helpdesk (email: sp4helpdesk@generationcp.org). You will also need to contact the helpdesk if you have forgotten your password. Please see the FAQ page for detailed instructions on how to get your username and login.

Public access is provided to all metadata, but access to datafiles can be restricted to exclude public access. Access to the uploaded datafiles can be restricted to GCP consortium members only or for members of the specific GCP project only.

Note that the default settings provide public users with download access to uploaded data files. To restrict access to a particular data file, view the [file details] and choose [edit file description].

All data generated from the GenerationCP project should eventually be publicly available with no read protection.
